Rabbit anti-DDX5 Antibody Affinity Purified
Product Details
Specifications
The epitope recognized by A300-523A maps to a region between residue 575 and the C-terminus (residue 614) of human DEAD (Asp-Glu-Ala-Asp) Polypeptide 5 using the numbering given in entry NP_004387.1 (GeneID 1655).
Immunoglobulin concentration was determined using Beer’s Law where 1mg/mL IgG has an A280 of 1.4. Antibody was affinity purified using an epitope specific to DDX5 immobilized on solid support.
The epitope recognized by A300-523A-T maps to a region between residue 575 and the C-terminus (residue 614) of human DEAD (Asp-Glu-Ala-Asp) Polypeptide 5 using the numbering given in entry NP_004387.1 (GeneID 1655).
Additional Product Information
DDX5 is a member of the DEAD box family of proteins that possesses several conserved motifs which include the highly conserved DEAD (Asp-Glu-Ala-Asp) amino acid sequence motif. The major activity of DEAD box proteins is to function as ATP-dependent RNA helicases. As helicases, DEAD proteins play an important role in all aspects of RNA metabolism and function which include pre-mRNA splicing, RNA synthesis, RNA degradation, RNA export, RNA translation, RNA secondary structure formation, ribosome biogenesis, and the assembly of RNP complexes. Some members of the DEAD box proteins also exhibit functions involved in transcriptional regulation. In addition to a role involved in RNA splicing, DDX5 has been observed to interact with and act as a transcriptional coactivator for estrogen receptor alpha (ERalpha). DDX5 has also been found to interact with CBP/300, Smad3, and p53 to modulate transcription. DDX5 is closely related to and forms heterodimers with DDX17.

Applications
All western blot analysis is performed using 5% Milk-TBST for blocking and as antibody diluent. Primary antibody is incubated overnight.
Western blots of cell lysates are performed using Goat anti-Rabbit IgG Heavy and Light Chain Antibody (Cat. No. A120-101P).
Western blots of immunoprecipitates are performed using Goat anti-Rabbit Light Chain HRP Conjugate (Cat. No. A120-113P) with 5% Normal Pig Serum (Cat. No. S100-020) added to the blocking buffer.
