Production Procedures
Antibody was affinity purified using an epitope specific to CCDC88A immobilized on solid support.

The epitope recognized by A303-102A maps to a region between residue 1425 and 1475 of human Coiled-Coil Domain Containing 88A using the numbering given in entry NP_001129069.1 (GeneID 55704).

Immunoglobulin concentration was determined using Beer’s Law where 1mg/mL IgG has an A280 of 1.4.
Antibody was affinity purified using an epitope specific to CCDC88A immobilized on solid support.

The epitope recognized by A303-102A-T maps to a region between residue 1425 and 1475 of human Coiled-Coil Domain Containing 88A using the numbering given in entry NP_001129069.1 (GeneID 55704).

Additional Product Information

CCDC88A encodes the protein known as GIV (G alpha-interacting vesicle-associated protein) and Girdin. CCDC88A plays a role as a key modulator of the AKT-mTOR signaling pathway controlling the tempo of the process of newborn neurons integration during adult neurogenesis, including correct neuron positioning, dendritic development and synapse formation. CCDC88A Enhances phosphoinositide 3-kinase (PI3K)-dependent phosphorylation and kinase activity of AKT1/PKB, but does not possess kinase activity itself. CCDC88A has also been found to be essential for the integrity of the actin cytoskeleton and for cell migration. It is required for formation of actin stress fibers and lamellipodia, and it may be involved in membrane sorting in the early endosome [taken from the Universal Protein Resource (UniProt) www.uniprot.org/uniprot/ Q3V6T2].

Applications

All western blot analysis is performed using 5% Milk-TBST for blocking and as antibody diluent. Primary antibody is incubated overnight.

Western blots of cell lysates are performed using Goat anti-Rabbit IgG Heavy and Light Chain Antibody (Cat. No. A120-101P).

Western blots of immunoprecipitates are performed using Goat anti-Rabbit Light Chain HRP Conjugate (Cat. No. A120-113P) with 5% Normal Pig Serum (Cat. No. S100-020) added to the blocking buffer.
