Rabbit anti-DHX38 Antibody Affinity Purified
Product Details
Specifications
The epitope recognized by A300-858A-T maps to a region between residue 1150 and 1200 of human DEAH (Asp-Glu-Ala-His) Box Polypeptide 38 using the numbering given in entry NP_054722.2 (GeneID 9785).
Immunoglobulin concentration was determined using Beer’s Law where 1mg/mL IgG has an A280 of 1.4. Antibody was affinity purified using an epitope specific to DHX38 immobilized on solid support.

Additional Product Information
DHX38 is a member of the DEAH box family of proteins that possesses several conserved motifs which include the highly conserved DEAH (Asp-Glu-Ala-His) amino acid sequence motif. The major activity of DEAH box proteins is to function as ATP-dependent RNA helicases. RNA helicases play an important role in all aspects of RNA metabolism and function which include pre-mRNA splicing, RNA synthesis, RNA degradation, RNA export, RNA translation, RNA secondary structure formation, ribosome biogenesis, and the assembly of RNP complexes. DHX38 is the human ortholog of the yeast Prp16 protein. DHX38 has been shown to be required for catalytic step II of pre-mRNA splicing.
Alternate Names
ATP-dependent RNA helicase DHX38; DDX38; DEAD/H (Asp-Glu-Ala-Asp/His) box polypeptide 38; DEAH (Asp-Glu-Ala-His) box polypeptide 38; DEAH box protein 38; pre-mRNA-splicing factor ATP-dependent RNA helicase PRP16; PRP16; PRP16 homolog of S.cerevisiae; PRPF16
Applications
All western blot analysis is performed using 5% Milk-TBST for blocking and as antibody diluent. Primary antibody is incubated overnight.
Western blots of immunoprecipitates are performed using Goat anti-Rabbit Light Chain HRP Conjugate (Cat. No. A120-113P) with 5% Normal Pig Serum (Cat. No. S100-020) added to the blocking buffer.
