Antibody was affinity purified using an epitope specific to eEF2 Kinase immobilized on solid support.

The epitope recognized by IHC-00331 maps to a region between residue 675 and 725 of human calcium/calmodulin-dependent eukaryotic elongation factor-2 kinase using the numbering given in entry NP_037434.1 (GeneID 29904).

Immunoglobulin concentration was determined using Beer’s Law where 1mg/mL IgG has an A280 of 1.4.

Eukaryotic elongation factor-2 kinase (eEF2 kinase) is a calcium- and calmodulin-dependent kinase that phosphorylates eukaryotic elongation factor 2 (eEF2), a non-ribosomal factor that mediates ribosomal translocation. eEF2 is regulated by MAP kinase signaling and the mTOR signaling pathway. eEF2 is phosphorylated in response to stimuli that increases energy demand or reduces its supply. Phosphorylation inhibits eEF2 activity to conserve energy.
