Rabbit anti-MED18 IHC Antibody Affinity Purified
Product Details
Specifications
The epitope recognized by IHC-00181 maps to a region between residues 150 and the C-terminus (residue 208) of human Mediator of RNA Polymerase II Transcription, subunit 18 using the numbering given in entry NP_060108.1 (GeneID 54797). Antibody was affinity purified using an epitope specific to MED18 immobilized on solid support.
The epitope recognized by IHC-00181-T maps to a region between residues 150 and the C-terminus (residue 208) of human Mediator of RNA Polymerase II Transcription, subunit 18 using the numbering given in entry NP_060108.1 (GeneID 54797).
Additional Product Information
MED18 is a component of the multisubunit mediator complex that functions as a bridge between gene-specific transcription factors and the RNA Pol II/general transcription factor machinery. The mediator complex was first identified as a coactivator of the thyroid hormone receptor and has since been observed to function as a coactivator of a variety of transcription factors. MED18 forms a subcomplex with the MED8 and MED20 subunits and plays an important role in initiation complex formation.
Alternate Names
Mediator complex subunit 18; mediator of RNA polymerase II transcription subunit 18; mediator of RNA polymerase II transcription, subunit 18 homolog; p28b; SRB5; TRAP/mediator complex subunit p28b
Applications
Epitope exposure is recommended.
Epitope exposure with citrate buffer will enhance staining.
Likely to work with frozen sections.
In some cases, the antibody may be diluted further than indicated.
