Production Procedures
Antibody was affinity purified using an epitope specific to PHF8 immobilized on solid support.

The epitope recognized by IHC-00343 maps to a region between residue 650 and 700 of human PHD finger protein 8 using the numbering given in entry CAI41576.1 (GeneID 23133).

Immunoglobulin concentration was determined using Beer’s Law where 1mg/mL IgG has an A280 of 1.4.

Additional Product Information

PHF8 (PHD finger protein 8) is a member of the jumonji family of proteins and contains a jumonji C (JmjC) domain. The JmjC proteins are predicted to be metalloenzymes that play a role a chromatin remodeling and histone demethylation. PHF8 also bears a PHD (plant homeodomain)- type zinc-finger, a domain also found to be involved in chromatin remodeling and transcriptional regulation. Truncating mutations in PHF8 are associated with X-linked mental retardation and cleft lip/cleft palate.

Applications

Epitope exposure is recommended.

Epitope exposure with citrate buffer will enhance staining.

Likely to work with frozen sections.

In some cases, the antibody may be diluted further than indicated.
