Rabbit anti-PRMT5 Antibody Affinity Purified
Product Details
Specifications
The epitope recognized by A300-850A maps to a region between residue 580 and the C-terminus (residue 637) of Protein Arginine Methyltransferase 5 using the numbering given in entry NP_006100.2 (GeneID 10419).
Immunoglobulin concentration was determined using Beer’s Law where 1mg/mL IgG has an A280 of 1.4. Antibody was affinity purified using an epitope specific to PRMT5 immobilized on solid support.
The epitope recognized by A300-850A-T maps to a region between residue 580 and the C-terminus (residue 637) of Protein Arginine Methyltransferase 5 using the numbering given in entry NP_006100.2 (GeneID 10419).
Additional Product Information
Protein arginine methylation is a form of post-translational modification that is catalyzed by protein arginine methyltransferases (PRMTs). PRMT5 interacts with the SWI/SNF complexes and methylates histones H3 and H4. This finding suggests that PRMT5 is involved in the structural modification of chromatin and the regulation of gene transcription.
Alternate Names
72 kDa ICln-binding protein; histone-arginine N-methyltransferase PRMT5; HMT1 hnRNP methyltransferase-like 5; HRMT1L5; IBP72; jak-binding protein 1; JBP1; protein arginine N-methyltransferase 5; shk1 kinase-binding protein 1 homolog; SKB1; SKB1 homolog; SKB1Hs
Applications
All western blot analysis is performed using 5% Milk-TBST for blocking and as antibody diluent. Primary antibody is incubated overnight.
Western blots of cell lysates are performed using Goat anti-Rabbit IgG Heavy and Light Chain Antibody (Cat. No. A120-101P).
