Production Procedures
Antibody was affinity purified using an epitope specific to RanBP1 immobilized on solid support.

The epitope recognized by IHC-00441 maps to a region between residue 1 and 50 of human RAN Binding Protein 1 using the numbering given in entry NP_002873.1 (GeneID 5902).

Immunoglobulin concentration was determined using Beer’s Law where 1mg/mL IgG has an A280 of 1.4.

Additional Product Information

Ran-binding protein 1 (RanBP1) binds to the GTP-binding protein, Ran, when it is specifically complexed with GTP. RanBP1 binding to GTP-charged RAN increases the catalytic efficiency of GTP hydrolysis activated by RanGAP, the Ran specific GTPase-activating protein. RanBP1 is also a negative regulator of RCC1 which functions in the nuclear pore transport process and cell cycle progression.

Alternate Names

HpaII tiny fragments locus 9A; HTF9A; Ran-binding protein 1; RanBP1; ran-specific GTPase-activating protein; testis secretory sperm-binding protein Li 221n

Applications

Epitope exposure is recommended.

Epitope exposure with tris-EDTA pH9.0 buffer will enhance staining.

Likely to work with frozen sections.

In some cases, the antibody may be diluted further than indicated.
