Rabbit anti-BAK1 Antibody Affinity Purified
Product Details
Specifications
The epitope recognized by A305-202A-T maps to a region between residue 50 to 100 of human Bcl-2 homologous antagonist/killer using the numbering given in entry Q16611.1 (GeneID 578).
Immunoglobulin concentration was determined using Beer’s Law where 1mg/mL IgG has an A280 of 1.4. Antibody was affinity purified using an epitope specific to BAK1 immobilized on solid support.

Additional Product Information
Bcl-2 homologous antagonist/killer, the product of gene BAK1, belongs to the BCL2 protein family. This protein localizes to mitochondria, and functions to induce apoptosis. BAK1 interacts with and accelerates the opening of the mitochondrial voltage-dependent anion channel, which leads to a loss in membrane potential and the release of cytochrome c. This protein also interacts with the tumor suppressor P53 after exposure to cell stress [taken from NCBI Entrez Gene (Gene ID: 578)].
Alternate Names
apoptosis regulator BAK; BAK; BAK-LIKE; bcl-2 homologous antagonist/killer; BCL2L7; bcl2-L-7; BCL2-like 7 protein; bcl-2-like protein 7; CDN1; pro-apoptotic protein BAK
Applications
All western blot analysis is performed using 5% Milk-TBST for blocking and as antibody diluent. Primary antibody is incubated overnight.
Western blots of cell lysates are performed using Goat anti-Rabbit IgG Heavy and Light Chain Antibody (Cat. No. A120-101P).
