Rabbit anti-Caldesmon Antibody Affinity Purified
Product Details
Specifications
The epitope recognized by A304-164A-T maps to a region between residue 675 to 725 of human Caldesmon 1 using the numbering given in entry NP_149129.2 (GeneID 800).
Immunoglobulin concentration was determined using Beer’s Law where 1mg/mL IgG has an A280 of 1.4. Antibody was affinity purified using an epitope specific to Caldesmon immobilized on solid support.

Additional Product Information
Caldesmon is a calmodulin- and actin-binding protein that plays an essential role in the regulation of smooth muscle and nonmuscle contraction. The conserved domain of caldesmon possesses the binding activities to Ca(2+)-calmodulin, actin, tropomyosin, myosin, and phospholipids. This protein is a potent inhibitor of the actin-tropomyosin activated myosin MgATPase, and serves as a mediating factor for Ca(2+)-dependent inhibition of smooth muscle contraction [taken from NCBI Entrez Gene (Gene ID: 800)].
Alternate Names
caldesmon; CDM; HCAD; H-CAD; LCAD; L-CAD; NAG22; testis secretory sperm-binding protein Li 227n
Applications
All western blot analysis is performed using 5% Milk-TBST for blocking and as antibody diluent. Primary antibody is incubated overnight.
Western blots of immunoprecipitates are performed using Goat anti-Rabbit Light Chain HRP Conjugate (Cat. No. A120-113P) with 5% Normal Pig Serum (Cat. No. S100-020) added to the blocking buffer.
