Rabbit anti-CBX3 Antibody Affinity Purified
Product Details
Specifications
The epitope recognized by A300-983A-T maps to a region between residue 75 and 125 of human chromobox homolog 3 using the numbering given in entry NP_009207.2 (GeneID 11335).
Immunoglobulin concentration was determined using Beer’s Law where 1mg/mL IgG has an A280 of 1.4. Antibody was affinity purified using an epitope specific to CBX3 immobilized on solid support.

Additional Product Information
CBX3 (chromobox protein homolog 3), also known as HP1gamma (heterochromatin protein 1 homolog gamma), is one of 3 isoforms of HP1 that binds heterochromatin and functions as a structural adaptor to stabilize and organize macromolecular complexes with nucleosomes for higher chromatin structure. All of the HP1 isoforms possess a chromodomain and chromoshadow domain and associate with methylated histones that mediate transcriptional repression.
Alternate Names
chromobox homolog 3 (HP1 gamma homolog, Drosophila); chromobox protein homolog 3; HECH; heterochromatin protein 1 homolog gamma; heterochromatin protein HP1 gamma; heterochromatin-like protein 1; HP1 gamma; HP1 gamma homolog; HP1-GAMMA; HP1Hs-gamma; modifier 2 protein
Applications
All western blot analysis is performed using 5% Milk-TBST for blocking and as antibody diluent. Primary antibody is incubated overnight.
Western blots of cell lysates are performed using Goat anti-Rabbit IgG Heavy and Light Chain Antibody (Cat. No. A120-101P).
Western blots of immunoprecipitates are performed using Goat anti-Rabbit Light Chain HRP Conjugate (Cat. No. A120-113P) with 5% Normal Pig Serum (Cat. No. S100-020) added to the blocking buffer.
