Rabbit anti-eIF4G3/eIF4GII Antibody Affinity Purified
Product Details
Specifications
The epitope recognized by A301-769A-T maps to a region between residue 650 and 700 of human eukaryotic translation initiation factor 4 gamma, 3 (eukaryotic translation initiation factor 4 gamma II) using the numbering given in entry NP_003751.2 (GeneID 8672).
Immunoglobulin concentration was determined using Beer’s Law where 1mg/mL IgG has an A280 of 1.4. Antibody was affinity purified using an epitope specific to eIF4G3/eIF4GII immobilized on solid support.

Additional Product Information
Eukaryotic initiation factor 4 gamma 3 (eIF4G3) is one of 2 eIF4G proteins found in human (eIF4G1 and eIF4G3). eIF4G is a subunit of the eIF4F heterotrimeric complex composed of eIF4A, eIF4E, and eIF4G. eIF4F plays a role in recruiting the ribosome to the 5’-end of capped mRNAs during protein synthesis. In the eIF4F complex, eIF4G functions as a scaffold to bridge the cap-binding subunit, eIF4E, with the RNA helicase, eIF4A.
Alternate Names
eIF4G 3; eIF-4G 3; eIF-4-gamma 3; eIF-4-gamma II; eIF4GII; eukaryotic translation initiation factor 4 gamma 3
Applications
All western blot analysis is performed using 5% Milk-TBST for blocking and as antibody diluent. Primary antibody is incubated overnight.
Western blots of immunoprecipitates are performed using Goat anti-Rabbit Light Chain HRP Conjugate (Cat. No. A120-113P) with 5% Normal Pig Serum (Cat. No. S100-020) added to the blocking buffer.
