Production Procedures
Antibody was affinity purified using an epitope specific to GTF3C1/TFIIIC220 immobilized on solid support.

The epitope recognized by IHC-00253 maps to a region between residue 1475 and 1525 of human general transcription factor IIIC, polypeptide 1 (general transcription factor IIIC, 220kDa subunit) using the numbering given in entry NP_001511.2 (GeneID 2975).

Immunoglobulin concentration was determined using Beer’s Law where 1mg/mL IgG has an A280 of 1.4.

Additional Product Information

General transcription factor 3C polypeptide 1 (GTF3C1/TFIIIC220) is a subunit of the TFIIIC DNA-binding factor required for transcription of tRNA and 5S rRNA genes by RNA polymerase III. Human TFIIIC is composed of six subunits: TFIIIC220, TFIIIC110, TFIIIC102, TFIIIC90 and TFIIIC63, and TFIIIC35. The functional contribution of GTF3C1/TFIIIC220 to the TFIIIC complex has not been fully determined.

Alternate Names

general transcription factor 3C polypeptide 1; general transcription factor IIIC, polypeptide 1 (alpha subunit); general transcription factor IIIC, polypeptide 1, alpha 220kDa; TF3C-alpha; TFIIIC; TFIIIC 220 kDa subunit; TFIIIC box B-binding subunit; TFIIIC220; TFIIICalpha; transcription factor IIIC 220 kDa subunit; transcription factor IIIC subunit alpha

Applications

Epitope exposure is recommended.

Epitope exposure with citrate buffer will enhance staining.

Likely to work with frozen sections.

In some cases, the antibody may be diluted further than indicated.
