Production Procedures
Antibody was affinity purified using an epitope specific to KIFC1 immobilized on solid support.

The epitope recognized by IHC-00496 maps to a region between residue 625 and 673 of human Kinesin Family Member C1 using the numbering given in entry NP_002254.1 (GeneID 3833).

Immunoglobulin concentration was determined using Beer’s Law where 1mg/mL IgG has an A280 of 1.4.

Additional Product Information

The kinesin superfamily of proteins consists of over forty KIF motor proteins that function in intracellular transport along microtubules. Kinesin activity has been linked to various cellular functions such as vesicle transport, mitotic spindle formation, chromosome segregation, chromosome congression, and cytokinesis. Structurally, all kinesins contain a motor domain with microtubule and nucleotide binding sites that utilize ATP to target cargo along microtubule filaments. KIFC1 has been demonstrated to be involved in the localization of PLK1, Aurora B, and Cdc14A to the central spindle during anaphase.

Applications

Epitope exposure is recommended.

Epitope exposure with tris-EDTA pH9.0 buffer will enhance staining.

Likely to work with frozen sections.

In some cases, the antibody may be diluted further than indicated.
