Additional Product Information
PPAR-gamma is a nuclear receptor that binds peroxisome proliferators such as hypolipidemic drugs and fatty acids. Once activated by a ligand, the nuclear receptor binds to DNA specific PPAR response elements (PPRE) and modulates the transcription of its target genes, such as acyl-CoA oxidase. It therefore controls the peroxisomal beta-oxidation pathway of fatty acids. PPAR-gamma is a key regulator of adipocyte differentiation and glucose homeostasis and acts as a critical regulator of gut homeostasis by suppressing NF-kappa-B-mediated proinflammatory responses [taken from the Universal Protein Resource (UniProt) www.uniprot.org/uniprot/P37231].
Alternate Names
CIMT1; GLM1; NR1C3; nuclear receptor subfamily 1 group C member 3; peroxisome proliferator-activated nuclear receptor gamma variant 1; peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma; PPARG1; PPARG2; PPARgamma; PPAR-gamma
Applications
All western blot analysis is performed using 5% Milk-TBST for blocking and as antibody diluent. Primary antibody is incubated overnight.
Western blots of immunoprecipitates are performed using Goat anti-Rabbit Light Chain HRP Conjugate (Cat. No. A120-113P) with 5% Normal Pig Serum (Cat. No. S100-020) added to the blocking buffer.
