Rabbit anti-REA Antibody Affinity Purified
Product Details
Specifications
The epitope recognized by A300-656A-T maps to a region between residues 1 and 50 of human Repressor of Estrogen Activity (Prohibitin 2) using the numbering given in entry NP_009204.1 (GeneID 11331).
Immunoglobulin concentration was determined using Beer’s Law where 1mg/mL IgG has an A280 of 1.4. Antibody was affinity purified using an epitope specific to REA immobilized on solid support.

Additional Product Information
REA (repressor of estrogen receptor activity), also known as prohibitin 2, has been shown to exhibit a variety of functions that includes mitochondrial chaperone activity, cell cycle regulation, and transcriptional regulation. REA localizes to the mitochondria and associates with mitochondrial complex I where it may play a role in mitochondrial metabolism. REA interacts with pRb to inhibit E2F-mediated transcription as well as the estrogen receptor to repress estrogen-dependent transcription via recruitment of histone deacetylases.
Alternate Names

Applications
All western blot analysis is performed using 5% Milk-TBST for blocking and as antibody diluent. Primary antibody is incubated overnight.
Western blots of immunoprecipitates are performed using Goat anti-Rabbit Light Chain HRP Conjugate (Cat. No. A120-113P) with 5% Normal Pig Serum (Cat. No. S100-020) added to the blocking buffer.
