Production Procedures
Antibody was affinity purified using an epitope specific to RPS24 immobilized on solid support.

The epitope recognized by A303-842A maps to a region between residue 83 and 133 of human Ribosomal Protein S24 using the numbering given in entry NP_001017.1 (GeneID 6229).

Immunoglobulin concentration was determined using Beer’s Law where 1mg/mL IgG has an A280 of 1.4.

Additional Product Information

RPS24 (40S ribosomal protein S24) is a component of the 40S ribosomal subunit required for the processesing of pre-rRNA and maturation of the 40S ribosomal subunits. Defects in the RPS24 gene are the cause of Diamond-Blackfan anemia type 3 (DBA3) [MIM:610629]. DBA3 is a form of Diamond-Blackfan anemia, a congenital non-regenerative hypoplastic anemia that usually presents early in infancy. Diamond-Blackfan anemia is characterized by a moderate to severe macrocytic anemia, erythroblastopenia, and an increased risk of malignancy. 30 to 40% of Diamond-Blackfan anemia patients present with short stature and congenital anomalies, the most frequent being craniofacial (Pierre-Robin syndrome and cleft palate), thumb and urogenital anomalies [taken from the Universal Protein Resource (UniProt) www.uniprot.org/uniprot/P62847].

Applications

All western blot analysis is performed using 5% Milk-TBST for blocking and as antibody diluent. Primary antibody is incubated overnight.

Western blots of cell lysates are performed using Goat anti-Rabbit IgG Heavy and Light Chain Antibody (Cat. No. A120-101P).

Western blots of immunoprecipitates are performed using Goat anti-Rabbit Light Chain HRP Conjugate (Cat. No. A120-113P) with 5% Normal Pig Serum (Cat. No. S100-020) added to the blocking buffer.
