Rabbit anti-SLBP Antibody Affinity Purified
Product Details
Specifications
The epitope recognized by A303-968A maps to a region between residue 220 to 270 of human Stem-Loop Binding Protein using the numbering given in entry NP_006518.1 (GeneID 7884).
Immunoglobulin concentration was determined using Beer’s Law where 1mg/mL IgG has an A280 of 1.4. Antibody was affinity purified using an epitope specific to SLBP immobilized on solid support.
The epitope recognized by A303-968A-T maps to a region between residue 220 to 270 of human Stem-Loop Binding Protein using the numbering given in entry NP_006518.1 (GeneID 7884).
Additional Product Information
Stem-loop-binding protein (SLBP) is an RNA-binding protein involved in the histone pre-mRNA processing. SLBP binds the stem-loop structure of replication-dependent histone pre-mRNAs and contributes to efficient 3'-end processing by stabilizing the complex between histone pre-mRNA and U7 small nuclear ribonucleoprotein (snRNP), via the histone downstream element (HDE). SLBP plays an important role in targeting mature histone mRNA from the nucleus to the cytoplasm and to the translation machinery. It stabilizes mature histone mRNA and could be involved in cell-cycle regulation of histone gene expression. It is also involved in the mechanism by which growing oocytes accumulate histone proteins that support early embryogenesis. SLBP binds to the 5' side of the stem-loop structure of histone pre-mRNAs [taken from the Universal Protein Resource (UniProt) www.uniprot.org/uniprot/Q14493].

Applications
All western blot analysis is performed using 5% Milk-TBST for blocking and as antibody diluent. Primary antibody is incubated overnight.
Western blots of cell lysates are performed using Goat anti-Rabbit IgG Heavy and Light Chain Antibody (Cat. No. A120-101P).
Western blots of immunoprecipitates are performed using Goat anti-Rabbit Light Chain HRP Conjugate (Cat. No. A120-113P) with 5% Normal Pig Serum (Cat. No. S100-020) added to the blocking buffer.
